The Scope of the Conference

The purpose of the conference was to discuss the advances of structural biology that have been promoted with the participation of scientists with Polish roots and/or with significant links to Poland. 35 invited lectures and 27 talks selected from submitted abstracts were delivered by accomplished scholars and by young investigators, who have had successful scientific careers around the world, working in a general field of structural biology, including biocrystallography and structural bioinformatics. The conference demonstrated that investing in science and science education is the best option for Poland and that Polish scientists can and do have very successful careers. For students and young researchers it was be a venue to find positive career models and inspiration for fascinating interdisciplinary research in structural biology.

The Topics of the Conference included, but were not limited to:

  • molecular and cell biology
  • biochemistry
  • biophysics
  • molecular medicine
  • molecular simulation
  • data mining
  • artificial intelligence
  • genomics
  • evolutionary biology
  • systems biology

A special panel discussion was organized by the Foundation for Polish Science.
